Cameroon and Central Africa Office
The Friedrich Ebert Stiftung is a German political foundation of public utility. It owes its name, existence, and function to the political legacy of Friedrich Ebert, Germany's first democratically elected president. The promotion of social democratic values and support for progressive movements lies at the heart of its commitment.
The Friedrich Ebert Stiftung operates in Cameroon since 1987. The foundation also covers the Central African sub-region. Its work focuses on four main fields:
- Strengthening participatory democracy in Central Africa
- Promoting and respecting sustainability and social justice standards in economic development
- Democratisation and reform of the discourse on security
- Ecological social transformation
In order to carry out its projects, the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung employs the following instruments:
- Meetings, workshops, conferences, and regional exchanges
- Promotion of economic, political, and social studies through its publications
- Targeted training programmes
- Political debates
